Trump, the front-runner of the GOP presidential primary, reportedly discussed sensitive information about U.S. nuclear submarines – including the number of warheads they routinely carry and how close they can get to Russian submarines without being detected – to an Australian businessman.
Earlier this week, the House ousted Kevin McCarthy – a stunning scene put in motion by a handful of far-right, MAGA lawmakers and one that marked the first time in history that the maneuver has been used to successfully oust a House speaker.
Trump himself considered filling the role of speaker after being nominated by Texas Rep.
“I have been asked to speak as a unifier because I have so many friends in Congress,” Trump told Fox News Digital on Thursday.
Trump is still considering a Tuesday visit to the Capitol, timed to when the GOP conference is set to hold a forum for the Speaker candidates.
